A very well loved pair of Doc Martens was handed down to the customer by his mum, and now being handed back (up?) to her again after many years of wear.
The leather on this pair is of very good quality for Doc Martens, especially for a made in Vietnam pair. Goes to show the drop in quality compared to back in the day.
Anyway. To make them mum-worthy we had to condition the leather heavily with Saphir Renovateur, as the oil had been stripped over the years. As such the leather darkened drastically, back to the original colour of the boots.
We resewed the zipper in place, replaced the sole stiffener, relined the heels and made custom insoles in leather and memory foam.
Finally they were given a polish with neutral Saphir Pate de Luxe, and the laces were replaced with Saphir wide cotton laces in medium brown.
